RESIDENCY / SCHEDULE
Since 2016, The Perlak/Tronzo Duo have served as artists-in-residence in the Guitar Department at Berklee College of Music. They have developed and team-teach two guitar ensemble courses (ENGT 200) each Fall and Spring semester, Spontaneous Composition and Modern Writing. These courses cover the materials, techniques, strategies, and leadership skills necessary for a strong musical and personal foundation that is adaptable to any style and a homebase for individual creativity. Each academic year, the Duo performs in the faculty concert series, "Solo/Duo Faculty Guitar Night," and frequently offers clinics and workshops on campus. Funded in part by two Berklee grants, they have produced and recorded two albums of original composed and spontaneously composed music, engineered and mastered by Randy Roos.
From this homebase, the Duo has performed, taught, and presented nationally and locally. Past work includes residencies at the Peabody Institute Fretfest and Birmingham Southern College, performances for the Boston Classical Guitar Society library concert series, and a presentation at the International Association for Music and Medicine on music process and mental health.
Future performances open to the public will be updated here. For questions about courses and collaboration at Berklee, please contact the Duo through the Guitar Department.
